Border Wars, 2008.
| 1. Since an article with photos may be submitted to the Cowboy Chronicle for publication, ALL winners are required to be in SASS approved clothing at the awards presentation. NO photos will be taken of ANY winner who is not in Cowboy Costume. | ||||||||||||
| 2. Vendors -- Vendors are welcome but you MUST make arrangements for space prior to the match. You must contact Buffalo Phil with space requirements, type of merchandise, etc. Failure to do so may result in there being no space for you to set up. | ||||||||||||
| 3. This match is limited
to the first 150 shooters. If you want
to assure your spot, don't procrastinate!! Get your entry in as soon as possible. |
||||||||||||
| 4. Deadline for entries is set as September 25th, 2008 at $80.00 per adult shooter ($60.00 for accompanying spouse), $40.00 per junior. These deadlines are necessary because of the times needed for ordering of awards plaques, dinner reservations, shooter's badges, etc. Entries received after the September 25th deadline will be assessed a $10.00 per entry late fee. NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER OCTOBER 10th, 2008!! | ||||||||||||
| 5. It has been decided that since there is an additional entry fee for the long range events, you may enter ONLY the long range if you so desire, HOWEVER -- your long range only fee DOES NOT include the Saturday Banquet Dinner or the Saturday & Sunday lunches. You will need to purchase a ticket if you want to attend the banquet. All long range entries are subject to the same deadlines as the regular entries. | ||||||||||||
| 6. Long Range rules and times are on the Entry Form (see link at top of page) | ||||||||||||
| 7. Shooting times and schedule of events are on the Entry Form (see link at top of page) | ||||||||||||
| 8. If you are camping (RV or tent), make sure you see the parking attendant at the match BEFORE you set up. Because of the number of entrants expected, camping spots will be assigned and you must set up in the area allotted for you. | ||||||||||||

| 10. If you've never shot a match at The Free State Rangers range, Targets at the range may be a little different than you are used to. Most are standard Cowboy Silhouette targets placed at normal ranges BUT they are not out in the wide open spaces. Most are set back into the timber that surrounds the range. If you look at the AFTER photos on this page, you can get an idea of what their locations are. This makes for an interesting and "somewhat" challenging course of fire but the targets are THE SAME FOR EVERYONE! | ||||||||||||
11. Where to throw your
bedroll!

| 12. On the entry form, there is a place where you need to indicate anyone you may need to be on the same posse with. PLEASE make sure that both you and anyone you indicate you need to posse with BOTH put each others alias on their respective forms. If you indicate on your entry that you need to posse with "Joe Bob" but Joe Bob does not indicate on his entry that he needs to posse with you, you may each end up on a different posse. | ||||||||||||
| 13. CATEGORIES -- It seems that there are an endless number of acceptable categories available for shooters. You may enter in any SASS recognized category, HOWEVER, The Free State Rangers require at least 3 shooters in a category before plaques are awarded. If there are not 3 shooters registered in your category, you will be given the option to move to a different category prior to the match starting. Should you decide to stay in your elected category without 3 registered shooters, you will be either first or second in your category, but no plaques will be awarded. If you wish to change categories, you MUST change prior to match start. |
