Railroad Cop (Duane McDaniel) passed away on January 14, 2004. He was a long-time member and Past-President of the Capital City Cowboys. Railroad Cop was the epitome of “the spirit of the game”. Rain, snow or scorching heat didn’t squelch his enthusiasm for cowboy action shooting. He jumped in to get the work done and he never complained. He traveled the state, as well as other states, promoting the sport and enjoying the companionship of fellow shooters and he could shoot too! He won his share of awards! Railroad cop was a life member of SASS and the National Model Railroad Association. He was employed as a produce manager at various grocery stores and owned and operated Duane’s Trains in Topeka. He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Sandra, a daughter and a son, four grandchildren and many other family members, including his shooting family. He will be missed.
